Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the women’s care unit, including administration and control of medications and narcotics
- Administer IV fluids in accordance with unit policies and procedures
- Perform age-appropriate assessments for patients from infant to geriatric, interpret data to guide care
- Communicate effectively with the care team, patients, families, and physicians; advocate for patients’ needs
- Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care; set priorities for nursing actions; evaluate patient responses
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized unit; manage supplies and equipment; respond promptly to emergencies
- Document assessments, plans, interventions, and outcomes clearly and concisely; provide patient and family education
- Demonstrate leadership by directing and/or delegating tasks to other care team members under RN supervision
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in California
- Ability to work night shifts in a hospital setting
- Competence in medication administration and IV therapy
- Strong communication, teamwork, and patient education skills
- Ability to perform comprehensive, age-appropriate patient assessments and document care accurately
