About KIPP NorCal

We are a thriving nonprofit network of 23 free, public charter schools open to all students. At KIPP, we believe all children should grow up free to create the future they want for themselves and that schools can and should be a critical factor in making that vision a reality. Together with families and communities, we create joyful, academically excellent schools that prepare students with the skills and confidence to pursue the paths they choose—college, career, and beyond—so they can lead fulfilling lives and build a more just world.

Our student community consists of nearly 7,000 elementary, middle, and high school students in East Palo Alto, Oakland, San Francisco, San Lorenzo, San José, Redwood City, and Stockton. 81% qualify for free or reduced price lunch, 34% are multilingual learners, and 12% have special needs. We strive to cultivate a representative team of teachers and leaders that reflects our students’ diversity.

Role Overview

The Operations Coordinator supports a safe, orderly, and joyful environment at KIPP Bridge Academy by executing consistent student culture and campus operations routines throughout the school day. Reporting to the School Leader, this role maintains a visible presence across campus, builds positive relationships with students, and supports systems that keep students safe, engaged, and in the appropriate learning environment.

In this role, you execute assigned tasks with quality and on time, working within a scope set by others. You decide how to approach your work and escalate anything outside it.

Core ResponsibilitiesStudent Culture, Supervision & Safety

  • Executes established supervision and student culture routines across hallways, bathrooms, common areas, and other high-traffic spaces so students experience a safe, orderly, and welcoming campus.

  • Supports consistent schoolwide behavioral expectations through respectful redirection, age-appropriate de-escalation, and positive relationship-building so students understand and meet community expectations.

  • Escalates significant, recurring, or higher-risk student behavior and safety concerns according to established school protocols so appropriate leaders can respond promptly.

  • Maintains consistent implementation of established student safety, crisis response, and behavior protocols within the scope of the role.

Student Movement, Attendance & Engagement

  • Executes established transition and student movement routines during class changes, arrival, dismissal, lunch, and other school activities so students reach assigned locations safely and efficiently.

  • Maintains the school's student pass and movement systems so students outside instructional spaces are appropriately accounted for throughout the school day.

  • Tracks patterns of tardiness, class avoidance, extended time outside classrooms, wandering, or pass misuse so school leaders have timely information to address recurring concerns.

  • Supports attendance and re-engagement systems, including assigned campus sweeps and student-location checks, so students return to and remain engaged in instructional spaces.

Arrival, Dismissal & Lunch Operations

  • Executes assigned arrival, dismissal, and lunch procedures so students move safely and school routines remain predictable and efficient.

  • Supports lunch supervision and student expectations for movement, use of space, cleanliness, and behavior so non-instructional periods remain safe and welcoming.

  • Escalates significant conflicts, safety concerns, and operational breakdowns according to established protocols so school leaders can intervene when needed.

Campus Operations & Systems

  • Completes regular campus-readiness checks of common areas, student spaces, signage, supplies, and assigned safety-related needs so the campus is prepared for students and staff.

  • Maintains accurate records and systems for assigned inventory, equipment, supplies, and student-facing materials so operational resources remain organized and available.

  • Tracks recurring operational gaps or breakdowns and communicates them to school leadership so the team can determine appropriate improvements.

  • Supports implementation of established and new campus routines so operational expectations are applied consistently across the school.

Student & Family Community

  • Supports a positive school climate by building trusting relationships with students while maintaining clear adult boundaries and consistent expectations.

  • Executes student recognition and relationship-building practices so students experience encouragement, accountability, and connection to the school community.

  • Supports student culture activities, assemblies, community events, and other schoolwide programming so students and families experience a welcoming and connected school community.

  • Maintains respectful, culturally responsive, and age-appropriate communication with students, families, and staff so community members feel known, safe, and respected.

  • Other duties as assigned.
