Hines Building Services (HBM) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Grounds and Maintenance professional to support a school campus environment.
This person is responsible for performing a wide range of landscaping and maintenance duties with a major focus on grounds management and landscape maintenance, while also applying carpentry skills to support general building and facility needs. The typical schedule for this position is Tuesday-Saturday, 6:30 am to 2 pm. There are times when staff need to work extra days or hours to support events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Landscape & Grounds
- Mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and planting
- Irrigation system monitoring and repair
- Landscape health and pest control
- Seasonal planting
- Maintain outdoor areas for safety and cleanliness
- Coordinate landscaping vendors
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all landscaping activities to prevent accidents and maintain a secure work environment
- General Maintenance & Trades
- Basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repairs
- Routine and preventive maintenance
- Troubleshooting facility issues
- Assist with installations and improvements
- Ensure safety compliance

What We're Looking For (knowledge, skills, abilities)
7+ years of experience in landscape and grounds maintenance
Strong and extensive landscaping/groundskeeping knowledge
Leadership and problem-solving abilities
Ability to apply general trade knowledge across multiple disciplines
Hands-on experience with construction activities related to outdoor projects
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards
Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish & English)
