ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Position Details

Salary: $100,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time, Salaried Exempt

Location: Del Mar, California

Schedule: Monday–Friday

Department: Accounting & Finance

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Position Summary

IPS Nationwide is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations and help ensure accuracy, integrity, and timely completion of the company’s financial reporting.

The Accounting Manager will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and will oversee key accounting functions, including general ledger activity, account reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who is organized, analytical, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and capable of identifying and resolving financial discrepancies in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure transactions are accurately and timely recorded.
  • Oversee general ledger activity and account reconciliations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and adjusting entries.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Review bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Assist with preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
  • Monitor balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain and strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls.
  • Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Coordinate accounting documentation required for audits, tax preparation, insurance, and other financial reviews.
  • Work with Payroll and HR to reconcile payroll-related accounting activity.
  • Identify financial discrepancies and ensure appropriate corrections are completed.
  • Develop and improve accounting processes, procedures, and documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
  • Supervise, train, and support accounting personnel as assigned.
  • Partner with Operations, HR, Payroll, Compliance, and other departments to resolve accounting-related matters.
  • Perform additional accounting and finance responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Previous accounting supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Experience with general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience using accounting, ERP, and/or payroll systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial, payroll, employee, and company information.
  • experience implementing AI and automation solutions within accounting and finance operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working within a multi-state organization.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and high-volume payroll environments.
  • Experience supporting audits and tax preparation.
  • Experience developing or strengthening internal accounting controls.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff.

Work Location

This is a full-time, in-person position based at our corporate office in Del Mar, California. Candidates must be able to reliably commute to the Del Mar office for their regularly scheduled workdays.
