Company Overview
We are a boutique, general contracting firm specializing in high-end custom home remodels and new construction, as well as select commercial and multi-family projects. For more than 15 years, we’ve built projects throughout the Los Angeles area with a focus on craftsmanship, collaboration, and strong client relationships. Our projects generally range from $1 million to $5 million, with five to eight projects underway simultaneously. Several of our current and upcoming projects are fire rebuilds in the Altadena area.
This is an exciting opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to join our close-knit team and help deliver high-quality projects alongside people who take pride in their work. Position Overview
Working directly with the Project Manager, you’ll support day-to-day field operations and project administration across multiple job sites. You’ll help keep projects organized, maintain clear communication, and support the team in delivering high-quality work on time and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Help create a positive, collaborative job-site environment where employees and subcontractors work together effectively as a team.
- Build constructive relationships with clients, architects, and design partners through professionalism, honesty, and collaborative problem-solving.
- Review and develop a thorough understanding of project plans, proposals, material specifications, and other construction documents.
- Assist with preparing budgets, schedules, change orders, logs, and reports, and update them weekly.
- Draft and coordinate RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs, and maintain organized project correspondence.
- Help maintain clean, safe, and organized job sites, including coordinating material storage and work staging.
- Assist with subcontractor oversight, scheduling, and quality control. Coordinate and lead subcontractor meetings, and prepare and distribute meeting notes.
- Schedule and participate in inspections.
- Monitor work for compliance with applicable codes, construction best practices, quality standards and design specifications.
- Prepare project close-out materials, including owner’s binder with equipment manuals, materials specification sheets, maintenance schedules, and other relevant information.
- Support multiple projects and travel between job sites as needed.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2 - 4 years of relevant work experience
- General knowledge of residential construction
- Experience in general contracting or related trade preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, prepare take-offs, and perform basic builder's math
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail
- A collaborative approach and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, insured vehicle; valid, unrestricted driver’s license with a clean record
- Ability to commute daily to locations throughout Los Angeles
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or a related field preferred; bilingual English/Spanish a plus
Compensation and Benefits
- Starting Hourly rate: $35–$38, based on experience
- Schedule: Part-time, up to 30 hours per week, with the potential for a full-time position based on performance
- Benefits: PTO, Additional upon Full-time: federal holidays, and eligibility for company medical and retirement plans after a waiting period
