Job Description
We’re seeking a Senior Tax Manager who can serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead final technical reviews of engagement deliverables, and develop high-performing teams. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep public accounting expertise with strong client leadership, budgeting/billing ownership, and a growth mindset. You’ll also contribute to business development through client meetings, proposals, and cross-selling opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert within the business unit, sharing knowledge and providing guidance on technical and strategic matters
- Act as a trusted client advisor by identifying issues/conflicts, staying current on industry trends, and proactively communicating solution options to clients and internal teams
- Lead quality control as part of the final engagement review team, performing technical/strategic reviews of financial statements, tax returns, workpapers, and related deliverables
- Manage engagement execution by overseeing staff deliverables, prioritizing multiple deadlines, and ensuring teams hit timelines and quality standards
- Own billing and realization for assigned clients, including developing engagement budgets and explaining variances
- Partner with upper management on new client development, including participating in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development to achieve cross-serve goals
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff through ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and evaluations while building a positive, team-first culture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Active CPA or equivalent certification required
- 8+ years of experience in public accounting or related field
- 5+ years of supervisory/people leadership experience
- Proven ability to manage all aspects of client engagements, including deadlines, multiple priorities, and client-facing communication
- Proficient with applicable technology; ability to travel based on business needs
