Our client, a well-established manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong month-end close experience, fixed asset accounting expertise, and a solid understanding of accounting operations within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, depreciation, and reconciliations
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process
- Support a fast-paced two-day month-end close cycle
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure compliance with accounting policies
- Conduct financial statement analysis and variance analysis
- Balance and reconcile intercompany accounts and joint venture activity
- Support capital project analysis and reporting
- Assist with cost accounting reporting and related analyses
- Participate in forecasting and budgeting activities
- Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and accounting efficiencies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a Senior Accountant or similar accounting role
- Strong fixed asset accounting experience
- Extensive month-end close and journal entry preparation experience
- Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and the financial impact of journal entries
- Experience performing account reconciliations and financial analysis
- Intercompany accounting and balancing experience
- ERP system experience (any major ERP system; manufacturing ERP experience preferred)
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Preferred Qualifications
- Manufacturing industry experience
- Cost accounting background
- Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance experience
- Experience with Syteline ERP
- SAP experience
- Process improvement or accounting automation experience
