Pediatric Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – Redding, CA

About the Position

A well-established, nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in Redding, California is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join its dedicated pediatric team.

This organization has served Northern California communities for decades and provides comprehensive medical, behavioral health, dental, vision, maternity, pediatric, urgent care, and specialty services. The health system cares for nearly 40,000 patients annually and is supported by more than 100 healthcare providers.

The Pediatric NP/PA will practice within a collaborative team that includes pediatric physicians and experienced advanced practice providers. The organization places a strong emphasis on accessible, compassionate, culturally responsive care and offers an environment where providers can make a meaningful impact on children and families throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric primary and preventive care
  • Perform patient histories and physical examinations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions
  • Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic testing
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans
  • Provide well-child exams, preventive care, and immunizations
  • Educate parents and caregivers regarding treatment, prevention, development, and overall health
  • Coordinate specialty referrals and consultations when appropriate
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, nursing staff, behavioral health professionals, and other members of the care team
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement and peer-review initiatives
  • Help support after-hours, evening, or weekend clinic coverage as needed

The pediatric program is part of a broader integrated healthcare system offering primary care, behavioral health, maternity services, specialty care, telemedicine, laboratory services, and additional resources to support patients and families.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $126,000–$176,400 DOE
