The Geotechnical Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting large multidisciplinary teams on a variety of commercial, infrastructure, residential, and environmental projects. The engineer will conduct thorough site investigations and soil analyses, develop foundation designs, and assess slope stability to ensure safe and effective project outcomes. Regular site visits and close collaboration with construction teams are essential to provide ongoing support and risk assessment. Proficiency in specialized geotechnical software and strong analytical skills are vital to succeed in this role.
Responsibilities
- Perform soil analysis and site investigations to evaluate ground conditions
- Design foundations suitable for varied project types and soil conditions
- Assess and ensure slope stability for safe construction and operation
- Prepare detailed geotechnical reports and documentation
- Conduct risk assessments related to subsurface conditions
- Study and interpret groundwater conditions impacting projects
- Provide construction support through site visits and problem resolution
- Oversee laboratory testing and validate data integrity
- Interpret geotechnical data using SLIDE and Settle3D software tools
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in geotechnical engineering
- Current Professional Engineering (PE) license
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Expertise in soil mechanics, foundation design, and slope stability analysis
- Experience conducting comprehensive geotechnical site investigations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SLIDE, and Settle3D software
- Strong skills in data analysis, report writing, and problem solving
- Effective communication skills for teamwork in large multidisciplinary teams
- Prior experience engaging in geotechnical investigations and regular site visits
- Geotechnical Engineering (GE) license
