Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Compounder to support a cosmetics manufacturing operation in California. This onsite opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on production work, follows detailed formulas with precision, and is comfortable in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. This is a contract position with the potential to become permanent, offering the chance to contribute directly to the preparation of bulk cosmetic products while maintaining quality, safety, and documentation standards.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately stage, weigh, and verify raw materials against established formulas and production specifications before each batch begins.
• Run and monitor production equipment such as mixers, pumps, tanks, drums, and related processing machinery to support daily manufacturing output.
• Compound bulk cosmetic products, including hair color and developer formulations, in accordance with approved procedures and quality expectations.
• Record batch activity, inventory usage, and manufacturing details thoroughly to ensure complete and accurate production documentation.
• Clean and sanitize vessels, tools, and surrounding work areas to maintain a safe and inspection-ready production environment.
• Adhere to current good manufacturing practices, plant safety standards, and sanitation procedures throughout all stages of the compounding process.
• Perform routine equipment inspections, confirm scale accuracy, and assist with basic upkeep to support reliable operation on the production floor.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to obtain materials, return inventory, and help manage the movement of ingredients and finished batches as needed.
• At least one year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with direct hands-on responsibilities.
• Practical experience operating compounding, mixing, or other industrial processing equipment.
• Strong numerical accuracy and attention to detail when measuring ingredients and following production formulas.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions, formulas, and safety guidelines in English.
• Familiarity with chemical handling, sanitation procedures, or cGMP-regulated manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
• Experience using pallet jacks or handling drums is preferred, and forklift certification would be considered an advantage.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work safely around production equipment and chemical materials.
