Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active California mild/moderate Education Specialist Credential (required)
- Previous experience working with elementary students in a special education capacity is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, differentiated instruction, and classroom management strategies
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and families
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specially designed instruction for students in 4th-6th grade with mild to moderate disabilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and modify classroom activities to address diverse learning needs
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers
- Regularly assess student progress, documenting growth and supporting transitions between grades
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of progress and strategies
