Job DescriptionSalary: $16.90 per hour
A Direct Support Professional (DSP) at Lutreos LLC works where care actually happens: in real homes, real routines, real lives. This role is about showing up with consistency, competence, and backbone. You support adults with developmental disabilities to live safely, with dignity and as much independence as possiblehelping with daily living, community participation, and personal goals laid out in their Individual Service Plan. Youre not here to babysit or hover; youre here to coach, assist, and step back when appropriate. Some days are calm. Some days arent. Either way, the work matters, and youre expected to handle it professionally.
This job requires judgment, patience, and follow-through. Youll document what actually happened, follow care plans and safety protocols, communicate clearly with supervisors, and speak up when something isnt right. You may assist with personal care, medication support (per training and authorization), transportation, and de-escalation during tough moments. Reliability is non-negotiable. Qualifications
- Ability to pass background checks, health clearances, and required training per state and regional center standards
- PREFERRED: Valid drivers license, insurable driving record
- REQUIRED: Reliable transportation
- Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable with documentation and basic technology
- Sound judgment under pressure; able to stay calm, firm, and respectful during challenging situations
- Physical ability to assist with daily living tasks, including standing, lifting, and mobility support as required
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow through without being micromanaged
Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living activities, personal care, and routines in line with their Individual Service Plan
- Promote independence, choice, and dignity while maintaining health and safety
- Provide community-based support, including transportation, appointments, and social activities
- Implement behavior support strategies and de-escalation techniques as trained
- Assist with medication support only as authorized and trained; report errors or concerns immediately
- Observe, document, and report accurately on progress, incidents, and changes in condition
- Maintain a safe, clean, and respectful living environment
- Communicate clearly with supervisors, families, and team members; escalate concerns promptly
- Follow all Lutreos policies, confidentiality requirements, and regulatory standards
