Job Description
The Packer plays a key role in preparing products for shipment by accurately packing items, performing visual inspections to ensure quality, and entering data into computer systems. This position supports efficient picking, packing, and shipping operations within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Pack products according to established procedures and packaging standards to ensure items are secure and protected during shipment.
- Perform thorough visual inspections of products to identify defects, damage, or inconsistencies before packing.
- Accurately enter product, order, and shipment information into computer systems to maintain up-to-date and reliable records.
- Support picking and packing activities by organizing items, verifying quantities, and preparing orders for shipping.
- Assist with shipping operations by labeling packages, preparing documentation, and staging shipments for carrier pickup.
- Follow all workplace safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production and shipping goals.
- Handle general labor tasks related to packing and shipping as needed to support smooth workflow.
Essential Skills
- Experience performing general labor tasks in a manufacturing or similar environment.
- Proven ability to pack products accurately and efficiently.
- Strong visual inspection skills with attention to detail and quality.
- Basic computer literacy, including the ability to input and update data in computer systems.
- Prior manufacturing experience.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to standard operating procedures.
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production and shipping deadlines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in picking and packing operations.
- Experience in shipping and packing functions.
- Comfort working with basic warehouse or packing equipment.
- Strong reliability and consistency in completing assigned tasks.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrance, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
