Job DescriptionAbout the Role:The Law Offices of Paul Jay Fukushima is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Estate Planning Paralegal to join our team in Norwalk, CA. Responsibilities:
- Draft and prepare estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and healthcare directives
- Assist attorneys with trust administration, probate filings, and estate settlement matters
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure a smooth legal process
- Organize and maintain client files, legal documents, and case management systems
- Conduct legal research related to estate planning, trust law, and probate proceedings
- Coordinate document execution, notarization, and proper filing with relevant agencies
- Support attorneys in preparing for client consultations and hearings
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in estate planning, probate, or trust administration
- Familiarity with California estate planning laws, probate code, and trust administration procedures
- Proficiency in drafting wills, revocable living trusts, and ancillary estate planning documents
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for client and attorney interaction
- Paralegal certificate or Associate's/Bachelor's degree in paralegal studies preferred
- Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Professional, empathetic demeanor with a client-first approach
