Job Description
JōbSource is hiring a Refrigeration Technician for a food processing company in Vernon, CA. This position is responsible for the entire refrigeration system in the plant, including scheduling and maintaining all required maintenance on the system. This position reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
• Maintain, service, repair, and overhaul industrial refrigeration equipment and auxiliaries, including chillers, spirals, freezers, and cooler units
• Maintain current operation and maintenance records on each unit of equipment
• Replace shaft seals and bearings
• Lubricate and change oil, filters, and belts
• Clean condenser tubes
• Adjust and regulate equipment to obtain desired temperatures
• Install, service, repair, maintain, and overhaul related components such as compressor units, pumps, vacuum pumps, and purge/pump-out/reclaim equipment and systems
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements
• 5 years of experience operating and maintaining industrial ammonia refrigeration systems
• Certification: RETA, CRST Operator 3 or Technician 1
• Working knowledge of the principles and methods of ammonia refrigeration
• Skill in the operation of the tools and equipment of the refrigeration trade
• Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings of refrigeration systems
• Ability to troubleshoot problems with the system
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• On-site attendance is required; remote work is not an option
