Job Description

Pinnacle Recruitment Services is seeking experienced Oil & Grease Technicians to join a long‑standing industrial services company with openings in Bakersfield, CA and Fresno, CA.

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who takes ownership of daily warehouse and equipment‑handling tasks, maintains strict safety and accuracy standards, and thrives in a role that blends hands‑on technical work with leadership responsibilities.

Performance Objectives

  • Convert OEM and client performance targets into application-specific grease formulations that pass agreed lab and field criteria on the first qualification cycle whenever the spec is complete.
  • Scale bench formulas to pilot and production batches with documented process conditions so every repeat lot matches the approved consistency, stability, and performance window.
  • Qualify each candidate against the relevant test methods—wear, extreme pressure, water resistance, dropping point, oil separation, and mechanical stability—and close gaps before release.
  • Diagnose batch deviations and in-service complaints, then deliver a corrected formula or process change with a clear root cause and a verified retest.
  • Keep batch records, raw-material traceability, and safety documentation accurate enough to satisfy client and quality audits without rework.
  • Cut scrap, rework, and cycle time on custom orders by standardizing mixing, milling, and fill practices with production.
  • Protect exclusive and client-owned formulas through disciplined change control so intellectual property stays intact from lab to shipment.

Environment & Resources

You will work in a combined laboratory and manufacturing setting inside an independent lubricating-grease producer serving OEM and industrial clients. The role sits with R&D and production, reporting to the technical or plant lead, and uses pilot mixing, milling, and standard grease-test equipment plus raw materials selected for severe service. Support includes access to prior formulations, test history, and production operators who run the scaled process.

Essential Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience formulating, compounding, or manufacturing lubricating greases or related industrial lubricants, including thickener systems and additive packages.
  • Working knowledge of grease test methods and how results map to load, speed, temperature, water, and shear in real equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale a bench formula to a repeatable production batch with complete process records.
  • Skill reading client specifications and translating them into measurable formulation and process targets.
  • Comfort with batch documentation, traceability, and safe handling of base oils, thickeners, and additives.
  • Clear written communication of test results, deviations, and recommended changes to technical and production colleagues.
