Medical Device Service and Diagnostics Technician
Job Description
Job Description
Your mission: Be the expert hospitals rely on to keep medical equipment operational so clinicians can deliver safe care. At STERIS, our services power a healthier, safer world across healthcare and life sciences.
Imagine this scenario
You arrive at a California hospital for a preventive maintenance visit. Midway through, a service call comes in for a device on a nearby floor. You triage, diagnose, and repair—documenting each step in our digital platform. A tricky fault appears, so you sync with Tech Support and Engineering, then close the loop with the Customer by outlining repair options and pricing. Before you leave, you complete a field upgrade and log the warranty details. It’s all in a day’s work.

- Support multiple sites in your assigned area per service agreements and Customer needs.

- Collaborate with Tech Support, Engineering, and Service Contract Management; leverage advanced technology platforms to meet compliance requirements, resolve issues, and document work.
- Provide clear information to Customers, including pricing and repair options; with management support, partner with Sales to enhance Customer experience and identify revenue opportunities.
What you bring
- High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of work experience, including at least 2 years in a mechanical/technical role. An associate degree, relevant technical/mechanical certifications, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may be considered toward the technical experience requirement.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to meet all required background and physical assessment elements to obtain and maintain existing and new vendor credentialing requirements.
- Proven Customer engagement and team collaboration.
