Job Description

Our client, an established and growing financial advisory organization in Orange County, CA, is seeking an experienced Senior Paraplanner to join its financial planning team.

\n

This is a senior, non-producing role designed for an experienced planning professional who enjoys the technical and analytical side of financial planning. There is no prospecting, cold calling, sales quota, or requirement to bring in clients.

\n


\n

The Senior Paraplanner will work closely with financial advisors and other internal professionals to prepare comprehensive financial plans, investment analyses, client meeting materials, and planning recommendations.

\n


\n

This position is ideal for someone who takes ownership of their work, has strong attention to detail, and enjoys managing the financial planning process from preparation through execution.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Prepare advisors for financial planning and investment meetings, including agendas, reports, analysis, talking points, and supporting materials
  • \n

  • Build, maintain, and update comprehensive financial plans using eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or comparable financial planning software
  • \n

  • Run planning scenarios and analyze various financial strategies and recommendations
  • \n

  • Prepare investment proposals, portfolio reviews, and analytical reports
  • \n

  • Develop professional, client-ready planning materials, meeting summaries, and follow-up correspondence
  • \n

  • Communicate directly with clients regarding financial planning, account servicing, and related matters
  • \n

  • Coordinate post-meeting action items, including account paperwork, money movement, trades, funding requests, and follow-up
  • \n

  • Research financial planning strategies, investments, and solutions based on client needs
  • \n

  • Collaborate with advisors and other internal teams to ensure financial recommendations are accurate and comprehensive
  • \n

  • Maintain organized and accurate client records and documentation
  • \n

  • Assist with documenting and improving financial planning processes and workflows
  • \n

  • Manage multiple client assignments and priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and responsiveness
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Paraplanner, Associate Advisor, Financial Planning Associate, Registered Client Service Associate, or similar financial planning role
  • \n

  • Current or previous securities licensing, such as Series 7, Series 66, or Series 65/63
  • \n

  • Hands-on experience creating financial plans using eMoney, MoneyGuidePro, or comparable planning software
  • \n

  • Experience working with investment analysis tools and custodian platforms
  • \n

  • Strong working knowledge of financial planning concepts, including:
  • \n

  • Retirement income planning
  • \n

  • Social Security planning and timing strategies
  • \n

  • Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs)
  • \n

  • Roth conversion strategies
  • \n

  • Investment and portfolio planning
  • \n

  • Estate planning concepts
  • \n

  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform financial planning analysis rather than solely providing administrative support
  • \n

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • \n

  • Ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly and concisely
  • \n

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • \n

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • \n

  • Ability to manage multiple applications and priorities simultaneously, including CRM systems, Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • \n

  • Must currently reside within reasonable commuting distance of Orange County, CA
  • \n

  • Candidates requiring relocation will not be considered
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • CFP® certification or currently pursuing the CFP® designation
  • \n

  • Additional securities licenses, including Series 6, 7, 65, or 66
  • \n

  • Experience with annuities and/or structured investment products
  • \n

  • Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Redtail, or similar systems
  • \n

  • Exposure to tax planning or tax-related financial planning concepts
  • \n
