Job Title: HR Assistant
Location: Madera, CA
Pay Rate: $25 - $28
Schedule: 1st Shift (AM)

Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable HR Assistant to support day-to-day human resources operations in Madera, CA. This position will assist with employee onboarding, HR documentation, employee records, benefits support, recruiting coordination, reporting, and other administrative HR functions.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to handle confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Employee Support
- Assist employees and managers with HR policies, procedures, benefits, and general employment questions.
- Process onboarding and offboarding paperwork, including new hire and termination documentation.
- Maintain accurate employee records and update HR systems as needed.
- Assist with leave administration, employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other HR transactions.
- Support workers’ compensation administration, including documentation and employee follow-up.
- Work with Payroll and Benefits to ensure employee information and status changes are processed accurately.
- Recruitment, Onboarding & Compliance
Coordinate recruiting and onboarding activities, including interview scheduling, background checks, and pre-employment requirements.
- Prepare and organize new hire paperwork and orientation materials.
- Conduct new hire orientations for hourly employees, including reviewing company policies and required documentation.
- Assist with job postings, candidate communications, and hiring documentation.
- Maintain personnel files and HR records in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws.
- Assist with audits, reporting, and HR documentation.
- Help ensure consistent application of HR policies and procedures.
- Reporting & Administrative Support
- Prepare routine HR reports and track employee information.
- Maintain accurate data within HRIS systems and identify discrepancies.
- Assist with HR projects and process improvements.
- Support performance management, training coordination, and other HR programs.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
- Provide professional and responsive customer service to employees and managers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in human resources, HR administration, employee services, or a related role.
- Knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, and confidentiality requirements.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office; strong Excel skills preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, staffing, or a fast-paced work environment is preferred.
