Urgent Care Veterinarian

PublishedPublished: 6/14/2022

Job Description

Job Description

Ready for a veterinary role that offers more than the same routine every day?

If you're considering a change, this opportunity could be worth exploring. It offers small-animal general practice with the potential to pursue a stronger urgent-care focus, giving veterinarians room to apply their skills across a varied caseload while continuing to develop professionally.

The role may suit clinicians who want to expand their experience, explore a different style of practice, or find a new professional direction without stepping away from hands-on medicine.

What You'll Find Here

  • Choice in your clinical direction: Explore a general practice or urgent-care focus based on your interests and the role's needs.
  • A mix of cases: Work across routine medical care, surgery, and time-sensitive presentations.
  • Support for continued growth: Mentorship, coaching, and continuing education help you keep building your clinical skills.
  • Opportunities to broaden your practice: Depending on your experience and responsibilities, additional areas may include dentistry, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation, and care for select nontraditional companion animals.
  • Production-based earning potential: A base-plus-production structure rewards your clinical contribution.
  • Support with the move: Bonus opportunities and relocation assistance are available.

What You'll Be Doing

The core work involves dogs and cats, with general medical and surgical responsibilities. Depending on the position, urgent-care duties may include same-day appointments and appropriate emergency cases. Ultrasound experience or familiarity with select exotic species can be an advantage for general practitioners. Veterinarians pursuing urgent care should be comfortable managing suitable emergency procedures and straightforward surgical emergencies.

  • A general practitioner interested in expanding into urgent care.
