Job DescriptionAbout the Role: A S & P Corporation is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our team in Union City, CA. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and daily living support to individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities
- Assist clients with personal hygiene, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Implement individualized support plans (ISPs) and document progress accurately
- Transport and accompany clients to appointments, community outings, and activities
- Encourage skill-building, independence, and community integration
- Administer medications and follow health and safety protocols as required
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, families, and care team members
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior experience as a DSP, caregiver, or in human services preferred
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a background check and health screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong interpersonal skills with a patient, empathetic, and client-centered approach
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays
