The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. This role supports the company’s operational goals by ensuring equipment runs safely and efficiently through both scheduled and emergency maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on automated production equipment such as conveyors, robotic arms, and pneumatic systems.
  • Maintain facility systems, including compressors, chillers, dust collectors, and lighting.
  • Conduct mechanical repairs on gearboxes, chains, pulleys, and pneumatic components.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including sensors, motors, and VFDs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical diagrams, and work orders.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and material handling equipment.
  • Report issues and unusual conditions to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Log daily activities using company software.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting experience, including diagnosing and repairing AC/DC systems and high and low voltage circuits.
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams and electrical schematics.
  • Mechanical and pneumatic systems knowledge, including hands-on experience with gearboxes, chains, pulleys, pneumatic cylinders, and piping.
  • Familiarity with facility systems such as compressors, chillers, and dust collectors.
  • Technical proficiency with tools and equipment, including skilled use of hand tools, power tools, and electric meters.
  • Minimum of 4 years of maintenance experience in a production or industrial setting.
  • Understanding of automation and robotics systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in welding, AC/DC motor repair, and HVAC systems.
  • Previous experience working as a Maintenance Tech in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

Work on the 1st shift from 6am to 2:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday. Training will occur on the 1st shift for 1-2 months, depending on proficiency (Monday to Friday, 6am - 2:30pm). The role requires working in a manufacturing facility located in two adjacent buildings. Candidates must be clean shaven to wear respirators when entering specific areas. The manufacturing floor has a paint-like smell due to the materials used in glove manufacturing.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
