CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer – Level 3
Starting at $35/hour | Monday–Friday | 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
This is an advanced CNC position responsible for the complete machining process, including operating, setting up, programming, and making program edits on Haas CNC lathes. The ideal candidate must be proficient in CNC programming, machine setup, tooling, offsets, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting.
We are looking for a highly experienced CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer who can confidently handle the full machining process from setup through production. This position requires someone who can work independently, troubleshoot machining issues, make program adjustments, and produce quality parts to print.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Haas CNC lathes
- Perform complete machine setups for production runs
- Program CNC lathe machines from start to finish
- Make program edits and adjustments as needed
- Set tool and work offsets
- Select appropriate tooling and cutting parameters
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications
- Set up and run jobs independently
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
- Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
- Troubleshoot machine, tooling, programming, and dimensional issues
- Make adjustments to improve part quality and production efficiency
- Work with aluminum and various other metals
- Monitor production and ensure parts meet quality requirements
- Identify and resolve machining issues with minimal supervision
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures
Key Requirements
- Strong CNC lathe machining experience
- Must be proficient in CNC programming and program editing
- Must be proficient in CNC machine setup
- Must be able to independently operate, set up, and program CNC lathes
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints
- Strong Haas CNC experience preferred
- Strong understanding of tooling, feeds, speeds, offsets, and machining processes
- Experience troubleshooting CNC machines and programs
- Proficient with calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring equipment
- Experience working with aluminum and various other metals
- Aerospace manufacturing experience highly preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
Schedule & Training
2nd Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:00 PM
Starting Pay: $35.00/hour
Overtime: Some overtime may be required
The selected candidate will train on 1st shift, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, for approximately 2 weeks to become familiar with the company's equipment, processes, programs, tooling, and quality standards.
After training, the position will transition to the regular 2nd shift schedule of 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
This is a Level 3 position for an experienced CNC professional who can independently operate, set up, program, edit, troubleshoot, and produce quality parts on Haas CNC lathes.
