Exciting opportunity available for a dedicated professional passionate about supporting students with special needs. This contract position is based near Santa Cruz, CA and specifically focuses on providing individualized instructional support for a 2nd-grade student with Autism. Working onsite, you’ll play a crucial role in helping the student achieve success outside the classroom and may be asked to support additional students as needed. This part-time assignment covers 4 days per week (Monday through Thursday), with 3 hours onsite daily during the school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid CTC Certification: Mild/Mod with AAAS or Mod/Severe (ESN) required
- Experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum supports and individualized instruction
- Capacity to adapt and assist additional students if requested
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver focused, one-on-one instruction to a 2nd-grade student with autism outside the general classroom
- Collaborate with on-site staff and families to tailor educational strategies
- Maintain thorough records of student progress and regularly communicate outcomes
- Flexibly adjust to program or caseload changes, supporting other students with special needs as assigned
