We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Service Manager with a strong, proven background in luxury and high-performance vehicles to lead our team, grow our business, and keep our five-star reputation strong.

JOB SUMMARY

The Service Manager leads daily shop operations while delivering an exceptional customer experience and driving sales of automotive products and services for a shop specializing in high-end and luxury vehicles. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll coordinate vehicle inspections, advise customers on repair needs for high-end and luxury vehicle makes (including but not limited to Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Bentley), provide accurate estimates, and ensure timely completion of approved work, while also directing shop workflow, supervising and developing your team, managing inventory, and overseeing service performance against monthly sales and profit goals. You'll ensure full compliance with company policy, safety standards, and Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) regulations, and you'll step in to run the store in the absence of ownership or upper management.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing and diagnosing high-end and luxury vehicles is required, including but not limited to Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Bentley. Candidates without this experience will not be considered.
  • Prior experience in a service advisor, service manager, or shop leadership role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of luxury/import-specific diagnostic tools, systems, and manufacturer service standards.

CORE OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

  • Drive Sales & Customer Satisfaction: Promote and sell automotive products and services while providing clear communication, accurate estimates, and an exceptional customer experience. Build and maintain strong relationships with retail, commercial, and repeat customers.
  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Ensure 100% of vehicle inspections are completed and properly documented per policy (PMI), and maintain full compliance with BAR regulations and company standards.
  • Coordinate Shop Operations: Assign duties, manage workflow, coordinate parts availability, and schedule repairs to ensure efficient, timely service completion.
  • Lead & Support Team Performance: Supervise employees, provide guidance, assist with tasks when necessary, and hold the team accountable for productivity in daily operations.
  • Maintain Operational Excellence: Oversee inventory control, shop organization and cleanliness, and proper maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Handle Customer & Service Issues: Address mechanical concerns and resolve customer complaints and comebacks professionally to ensure satisfaction.
  • Promote Safety & Training: Enforce OSHA and company safety standards, maintain a safe work environment, and participate in all required meetings and training.
  • Support Store Leadership: Assist in overall store operations and assume full operational responsibility in the absence of ownership or upper management.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote the sales and profitability of all products and services offered.
  • Ensure all vehicle inspections are completed and documented per policy.
  • Coordinate inspections between technicians and customers; recommend and sell necessary repairs.
  • Schedule approved repairs and supervise staff to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain inventory control and ensure parts availability.
  • Supervise shop operations, including equipment maintenance and housekeeping.
  • Handle customer concerns, service issues, and comebacks professionally.
  • Assist team members with physical tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all BAR regulations and company policies.
  • Support safety compliance in accordance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by ownership or upper management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Basic mathematical proficiency for estimates, transactions, and reporting.
  • General automotive knowledge and mechanical aptitude required, along with specialized knowledge of high-end/luxury makes, including but not limited to Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Bentley.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and support team members.
  • Proven ability to effectively promote and sell automotive products and services.
  • Ability to perform a range of physical tasks, including lifting 10–100 lbs.
  • Willingness and flexibility to relocate is a plus.
  • Willingness to stay current with required training and apply learned practices on the job.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Total Earning Potential: $80,000–$95,000 per year, depending on experience
  • Classification: Exempt in accordance with applicable Federal and California labor law. Performance and compensation are reviewed periodically.
  • Health Coverage: Eligible to enroll in Medical, Dental, Vision, and Voluntary Life coverage on the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
  • Paid Time Off: Sick/personal leave accrues each pay period (5 days/year, up to a 64-hour maximum accrual), plus accruing vacation time.
  • Introductory Period: This position includes a 30-day introductory (probationary) period.
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–6:00 PM.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Total Earning Potential: $80,000–$95,000 per year, based on an hourly base wage plus commission tied to individual sales performance and participation in spiff and incentive programs.
  • Classification: Non-exempt; eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable Federal and California labor law. Performance and compensation are reviewed periodically.
