The Warehouse Project Manager is responsible for supporting operational improvements, new customer implementations, and cross-site warehouse projects across JUSDA’s U.S. warehouse network. This role requires strong hands-on warehouse operations knowledge and project management experience across different types of warehouse operations, with particular emphasis on e-commerce and fulfillment operations.

This position will serve as a key bridge between Sales Development, customers, and warehouse operations teams. The Warehouse Project Manager will support the full lifecycle of new business implementation—from understanding customer requirements and developing warehouse solutions to implementation planning, pricing and commercial discussions, go-live execution, and operational stabilization.
\n
The role will also require travel to JUSDA warehouse locations across the U.S. to support operational improvement initiatives, resolve urgent operational issues, and drive greater efficiency and standardization across sites.

Duties / Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations Support & Improvement
\n

- Travel to warehouse locations across the U.S. to support operational improvements and address critical or emergency operational situations.
- Assess warehouse operations and identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency, cost, service quality, and operational performance.
- Analyze key operational metrics, including labor productivity, capacity utilization, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, throughput, and SLA performance.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and develop practical corrective and preventive action plans.
- Support continuous improvement across inbound, put-away, storage, inventory management, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and value-added services (VAS).
- Promote operational consistency and standardization across multiple warehouse locations.
- Support the implementation of operational best practices and ISO 9001 principles where applicable.

New Customer Implementation & Project Management

- Lead and support the implementation of new warehouse and fulfillment customers.
- Partner with Sales teams during customer meetings as the warehouse operations subject matter expert.
- Understand customer requirements, volume forecasts, service expectations, operational complexity, and system requirements to develop appropriate warehouse solutions.
- Develop comprehensive Implementation Plans covering project scope, timeline, milestones, resources, headcount, systems, equipment, SOPs, risks, and go-live requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including Operations, Sales, IT, Finance, Procurement, HR, and other stakeholders, throughout the implementation process.
- Conduct operational readiness reviews prior to go-live to ensure staffing, systems, equipment, inventory locations, SOPs, and processes are fully prepared.
- Manage go-live and ramp-up activities, troubleshoot implementation issues, and support the transition into stable day-to-day operations.
- Maintain project timelines, action items, risk registers, and regular project status updates for internal and external stakeholders.

Customer Pricing & Commercial Support

- Work directly with customers to understand warehouse requirements, operating models, SLAs, volume forecasts, and other business requirements.
- Support the development of warehouse solutions that balance operational feasibility, service requirements, and cost competitiveness.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, and Operations teams on cost modeling, resource planning, and pricing analysis.
- Participate in customer discussions regarding pricing, rate structures, commercial terms, and operational assumptions.
- Analyze and communicate cost/service trade-offs and identify opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance, and productivity improvements.
- Ensure proposed pricing and commercial assumptions are aligned with the actual operational model, resource requirements, and cost structure.
- Support commercial discussions during new business implementation and when existing customer requirements change.

E-Commerce & Fulfillment Operations

- Apply strong knowledge of e-commerce warehouse and fulfillment center operations, including high-volume B2C order fulfillment.
- Understand operational requirements for picking, packing, parcel shipping, returns processing, inventory management, and value-added services.
- Support operations involving high SKU counts, high transaction volumes, small-parcel fulfillment, and rapidly changing order profiles.
- Analyze order profiles, SKU profiles, volume forecasts, and customer SLAs to develop or improve warehouse processes.
- Support capacity, labor, and resource planning for peak seasons, promotions, and unexpected volume surges.
- Identify opportunities to improve e-commerce warehouse productivity through process optimization, layout changes, labor planning, systems, automation, and material handling equipment.
- Experience with WMS, OMS, parcel systems, warehouse automation, or material handling equipment is highly preferred.

Continuous Improvement & Standardization

- Develop and promote best-practice sharing across warehouse locations.
- Use operational data and business analytics to identify productivity, cost, quality, and service improvement opportunities.
- Research warehouse automation, material handling equipment, and technologies that may improve operational efficiency.
- Support the development and standardization of warehouse implementation processes, SOPs, operational reviews, and performance management tools.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement and cost optimization projects across multiple warehouse locations.

Required Skills / Abilities

- Strong knowledge of different types of warehouse operations and operating models, with e-commerce and fulfillment warehouse experience highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of inbound, inventory management, storage, picking, packing, outbound, returns, and VAS processes.
- Experience with new customer implementations, warehouse start-ups, business launches, or operational transitions.
- Ability to independently develop and manage implementation plans, project timelines, milestones, and go-live activities.
- Experience with warehouse cost analysis, pricing, or customer commercial discussions.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use operational data to identify issues and develop actionable solutions.

Education & Experience
\n

- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in warehouse operations, warehouse project management, implementation, or a related field.
- Experience supporting multiple warehouse locations or multi-site operations preferred.
- Experience in e-commerce, fulfillment, 3PL, contract logistics, or large-scale distribution center operations highly preferred.
- Experience with new customer implementations, warehouse start-ups, go-live, and ramp-up projects preferred.
