Snapshot / Role Overview
We're looking for an HVAC Service Manager in the Sacramento area to lead field operations, develop technicians, and own the financial health of a commercial service department.
Impact
- Keep technicians productive and customers inside their service commitments.
- Lift service quality through hands-on leadership in the field.
- Own the service P&L: revenue, margin, and inventory.
- Grow the department through proposals and maintenance contracts.
Responsibilities
- Run service operations, dispatch, scheduling, and job priority.
- Hire, train, and mentor technicians on troubleshooting, safety, and customer service.
- Track response time, first-time fix, and callbacks, and improve them.
- Visit sites, resolve escalations, and quote repairs and replacements.
- Manage the service budget and forecast revenue.
- Enforce QA/QC and refrigerant compliance.
- Keep field service software accurate and manage parts and vendors.
- Lead toolbox talks, performance reviews, and on-call rotations.
Must-Haves
- Seven or more years in commercial HVAC service, with time leading technicians.
- P&L responsibility for a service operation.
- Working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and refrigerant regulations.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience selling maintenance agreements.
- CMMS or field service software administration.
Compensation and Logistics
