Human Resources Manager – Distribution Center
Salary: $75,000–$80,000 annually
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt
Epic Personnel Partners is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager for a busy distribution center in Sacramento, CA. This position is responsible for managing daily HR operations and partnering with distribution center leadership to support employees, maintain compliance, and promote a positive work environment.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on HR management experience, knowledge of federal and California employment laws, and experience supporting employees in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production environment. Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily activities and priorities of the HR department
- Support recruitment, hiring, promotions, placements, onboarding, and temporary staffing
- Conduct new-hire orientations and oversee employee training initiatives
- Manage employee relations and support the resolution of workplace concerns
- Investigate employee complaints and assist with responses to EEOC matters
- Coach managers and employees on performance, policies, and personnel matters
- Coordinate the performance-management process and ensure timely completion
- Implement and consistently apply company policies and procedures
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Ensure I-9 forms and employee records are complete and accurate
- Maintain HR-system information, organizational charts, and employee-status changes
- Support benefits administration and the open-enrollment process
- Serve as a backup for payroll processing
- Complete unemployment documentation and represent the company at hearings when appropriate
- Provide administrative support for workers’ compensation and workplace-safety programs
- Partner with temporary staffing agencies to ensure compliance with company procedures
- Monitor the distribution center environment and communicate concerns to management
- Track new-hire compliance and approved pay ranges
- Conduct exit interviews, identify trends, and recommend improvements
- Build strong working relationships with executives, managers, employees, and staffing partners
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- At least six years of hands-on HR generalist and management experience required
- Experience with recruitment, benefits, payroll, employee relations, labor relations, safety, and workers’ compensation
- HR experience in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production environment strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of federal and California employment laws
- Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other HR systems
- Bilingual English and Spanish skills preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate with employees at all organizational levels
- Open schedule and ability to travel as required
- Ability to work in a distribution center with varying temperatures
Compensation
$75,000–$80,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
