Job Description

The Heritage Steakhouse, East County’s premier upscale dining destination, is seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team immediately. We are committed to delivering unparalleled culinary experiences while fostering a culture of excellence. The Line Cook will prepare dishes across multiple stations, maintain high-quality standards, and support our kitchen team through training and leadership.

Positions Available: Garde Manger Line Cook & Prep Cook

Responsibilities

Prepare appetizers, soups, salads, entrees, desserts, and other food items
Maintain 100% quality food production consistently
Manage timing of food items to meet guest and supervisor expectations
Communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers
Maintain, organize, and rotate inventory regularly
Set up culinary equipment promptly and completely
Maintain a clean and safe working area, including refrigeration units
Assist in controlling food costs
Adhere strictly to safety and sanitation regulations
Project and maintain a positive attitude
Assist in daily organization and storage of products
Anticipate business levels and adjust accordingly
Be flexible with scheduling and shifts to meet business demands
Work neatly and set exemplary standards for lower-level cooks

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Line Cook with comprehensive cooking technique knowledge
Strong equipment knowledge and maintenance skills
Excellent organizational skills to maximize kitchen efficiency
Thorough knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
Basic leadership and training abilities
Skilled knife handling
Ability to consistently produce high-quality dishes

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of additional cooking experience
Experience with inventory rotation and management
Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
Time management proficiency
Experience working across multiple stations including hot line, cold line, and specialty stations
