Job DescriptionAbout the Role:Consolidated Medical Bio-Analysis I is looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Accessioner to join our team in Cypress, CA. This is a great opportunity to play a vital role in the clinical laboratory workflow, ensuring accurate and efficient specimen processing that directly impacts patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, sort, and process incoming laboratory specimens for testing and analysis
- Accurately label, log, and enter specimen data into the laboratory information system (LIS)
- Verify patient demographics and test orders for completeness and accuracy
- Prioritize STAT and routine specimens according to established protocols
- Centrifuge and aliquot specimens as required for various laboratory departments
- Identify and resolve specimen integrity issues, including hemolysis, quantity not sufficient (QNS), and mislabeling
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area following safety and OSHA guidelines
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or medical training preferred
- Prior experience in a clinical laboratory or medical setting is a plus
- Familiarity with specimen types, collection tubes, and basic laboratory procedures
- Strong data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle biological specimens safely
