Production Supervisor


Manufacturing Environment | San Jose, CA | 5+ Month Contract | Rotating 13-Hour Schedule


Our client is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead hourly production and logistics teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role will oversee daily operations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure safety, quality, and production goals are consistently achieved.


Schedule: Rotating 13-hour shifts

  • 3 days one week / 4 days the next
  • Daily overtime and California double-time apply


Key Focus Areas: Production Leadership | Team Development | Lean Manufacturing | Safety & Quality | Continuous Improvement


What You’ll Do

  • Lead daily production and logistics activities for an assigned shift
  • Supervise and support hourly manufacturing employees while driving safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Execute production plans while ensuring compliance with operational standards
  • Partner with plant leadership to resolve issues and improve manufacturing performance
  • Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and operational improvements
  • Coach, develop, and engage production teams to improve performance and accountability
  • Maintain food safety, quality, labor, and regulatory compliance standards
  • Analyze production challenges and implement effective solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall plant objectives


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supervising or leading manufacturing operations
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and develop hourly production teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in a union manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong understanding of production, logistics, safety, and quality processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of manufacturing/operations experience
    or
  • High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of manufacturing or production experience
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Experience with food processing, packaging, or mechanical manufacturing environments
  • Experience with PI systems (OSIsoft PI, AVEVA PI, PI Vision, or PI ProcessBook) preferred
