About the Role:
As a Cashier, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout experience. Your role is critical in maintaining customer satisfaction by accurately processing transactions and handling payments with integrity. You will also contribute to the overall store environment by performing light janitorial duties and assisting with inventory management when necessary. Flexibility in scheduling will be essential to meet the dynamic needs of the business, including weekends and holidays. Ultimately, your efforts will support the store’s operational success and foster a welcoming atmosphere for all customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cashiering or customer service roles.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle cash accurately.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash register operation.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Familiarity with janitorial and light maintenance duties.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items safely.

Responsibilities:
- Operate cash registers and point-of-sale systems to process customer purchases accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and other forms of payment while ensuring proper change is given and transactions are recorded correctly.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
- Perform repetitive motions such as scanning items and bagging purchases while maintaining attention to detail.
- Assist with janitorial duties including cleaning checkout areas and maintaining a tidy workspace.
- Lift and carry heavy items as needed to restock shelves or assist customers.
- Manage phone etiquette by answering calls professionally and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Work a flexible schedule to accommodate peak business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
