Job Title: Wiring Technician
Job Description
The Wiring Technician performs electrical wiring and assembly of switchgear components in a manufacturing environment, working from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and production specifications. This role focuses on installing, routing, and terminating wires and electrical components using hand tools and wiring equipment to ensure proper functionality, reliability, and compliance with established quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and assembly drawings to ensure accurate electrical connections and routing within switchgear and related assemblies.
- Install, route, and terminate electrical wiring, cables, and components inside switchgear enclosures and electrical panels according to engineering and production specifications.
- Perform electrical assembly tasks on panels, switchgear, and control panels, including cable assembly, wire harness work, and component installation.
- Use hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, and other wiring equipment to strip, crimp, terminate, and secure electrical connections safely and efficiently.
- Verify that wiring connections and assembled components meet engineering specifications, electrical system requirements, and internal quality standards.
- Identify wiring discrepancies, electrical issues, or assembly defects and promptly communicate findings to supervisors, engineering, or quality personnel for resolution.
- Perform basic testing and continuity checks of wiring connections as required by production procedures to confirm proper operation.
- Support troubleshooting and minor repair activities on electrical assemblies and cable harnesses as needed during production.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools, materials, and assemblies are handled and stored in accordance with manufacturing practices.
- Follow all production procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines while working in electrical manufacturing and production environments.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical wiring and termination, including installing, routing, stripping, crimping, and terminating electrical wires and cables according to engineering drawings and wiring diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings to ensure accurate wiring connections and component placement.
- Effective use of hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, and other wiring equipment commonly used in manufacturing environments.
- 13 years of experience in electrical wiring, electrical assembly, or panel wiring within a manufacturing or production environment preferred.
- Experience installing, routing, and terminating electrical wiring and electrical components in panels, switchgear, or control systems.
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings in a production setting.
- Knowledge of basic electrical systems, control panels, and switchgear assemblies.
- Ability to perform basic testing and continuity checks on electrical wiring and connections.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Skills in electrical assembly for panels, switchgear, and control panels.
- Experience with cable assembly, wire harness assembly, and cable installation in electrical systems.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and minor repair of electrical assemblies and wiring issues.
- Comfort working with mechanical aspects of electrical assemblies, including mounting and securing components.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify wiring discrepancies and assembly defects.
- Ability to follow production specifications, work instructions, and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid handeye coordination and manual dexterity for precise electrical wiring and assembly tasks.

Schedule:
Hours: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 4:30 PM. This is an 11.5-hour shift. Overtime may be required, including staying until 6:30 PM and occasional Saturdays based on business needs.
Work Environment
This role operates in an electrical manufacturing environment, primarily within production areas that focus on switchgear, electrical panels, and related assemblies. Work is hands-on and tool-driven, involving regular use of hand tools, power tools, wire strippers, crimping tools, and other wiring equipment. The position is based mainly in production facilities and may occasionally support operations at nearby company locations. Employees work around active electrical assemblies and manufacturing equipment, following established safety procedures and production practices in a professional industrial setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Corona, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
