Job Description

Job Description

Do you want a seat selling to the Fortune 500 and a company that has been profitable for 30+ straight years standing behind you? Are you a true hunter who is energized — not drained — by picking up the phone and starting conversations from scratch? If your answers are yes, please read on.

As a Business Development Executive (BDE) at Pacific Rim Capital (PRC), your focus is winning net-new enterprise business. You'll prospect, open the door, run consultative discovery, navigate multi-stakeholder approvals, and close first-of-a-relationship deals with some of the largest organizations in North America.

This role offers a competitive base salary plus an uncapped commission plan tied to your new-business production.

Our ideal candidate is assertive, self-motivated, competitively driven, and genuinely curious about how big businesses make financial decisions. You are comfortable on the phone all day, you do not internalize rejection, and you want to build a book of enterprise clients from the ground up.

About the Role

PRC is one of North America's largest independent providers of equipment financing and leasing solutions, with nearly $2 billion in assets under management. We finance material handling equipment (MHE), IT, fleet, large capital equipment, and renewable energy — with a deep emphasis in MHE as the entry point into most Fortune 500 accounts.

Reporting to the Director of National Accounts, you will:

  • Generate net-new business — proactively identify, qualify, and engage enterprise-level prospects; grow PRC's customer base with logos we do not have today.
  • Prospect and cold-call relentlessly — spend the majority of your day on the phone reaching decision-makers and building pipeline from scratch. This is the heart of the job every year, not just Year 1.
  • Sell consultatively — uncover sourcing, capital, and operational pain, then frame leasing and finance solutions in strategic, ROI-driven terms rather than on price alone.
  • Navigate complex first-deal cycles — manage C-suite, finance, and procurement stakeholders through extended, multi-tiered approval processes to close the first-of-a-relationship deal.
  • Continue to develop new accounts — once an account is won, keep developing it — selling additional asset classes into additional business units — to build a foundation for long-term partnership.
  • Manage your pipeline and forecast — keep CRM data accurate, track milestones, and forecast reliably.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally — partner with credit, underwriting, and operations to close deals and onboard new clients smoothly.

What Success Looks Like

We do not leave success to guesswork. Here is the ramp:

First 30 days. Complete onboarding and leasing-fundamentals training, learn our CRM, sales process, and pricing tools, and build your initial target account list with the Director of Sales. You will begin live cold-calling with coaching and observe leader-led key calls and customer presentations.

3 months. Run your own outbound cadence independently, demonstrate consultative selling, and keep clean pipeline hygiene. You will be hitting quarterly meeting, prospect, and pricing targets.

6 months. Begin navigating multi-stakeholder approvals with minimal oversight, break your first new account, and become eligible to earn a hybrid (office/home) schedule based on performance.

9 months. Own your pipeline, forecast, and deal quality end-to-end. Sharpen objection handling and competitive positioning, and continue developing accounts you have won across asset classes and business units.

12 months. Break a second new account, hit your Year 1 award expectations, and build a credible Year 2 plan to scale your book. The outbound intensity never lets up — the hunter hunts every year.

What You Bring

Required:

  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish, with the ability to read, write, and communicate professionally in both languages.
  • A 4-year degree from an accredited college or university.
  • You live within a 90-minute drive of our Irvine, CA headquarters (this role is in-office during the initial 6-month training period).
  • Demonstrated comfort with outbound cold-calling and high-volume, phone-based prospecting.
  • Excellent verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills.
  • A track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas or comparable performance targets.
  • Working proficiency with CRM tools and pipeline management.
  • A self-starter who has independently driven prospecting, lead generation, and a full sales cycle.

Strongly preferred:

  • Enterprise / complex B2B sales experience selling into large organizations with multi-tiered approvals.
  • Experience selling financial products, leasing, equipment finance, capital equipment, or similar consultative solutions.
  • Comfort articulating financial concepts (ROI, total cost of ownership, lease vs. buy) to finance and C-suite audiences.
  • Exposure to procurement-led buying processes.
  • A history of building a pipeline from scratch in a true hunter role.

Who thrives here:

Assertive and outcome-driven. Resilient — you reset and dial again. Socially confident and persuasive. Competitively driven but patient across long cycles. Self-directed, organized, and coachable. And, true to our values, someone who genuinely cares about clients, teammates, and outcomes.

What’s In It For You

  • Uncapped earning potential. Competitive base salary $150,000 plus uncapped commission tied to your new-business production.
  • Enterprise-caliber clients. Sell to some of the world's largest, most recognizable companies from day one.
  • A stable platform, not a startup. $2B+ in assets under management, 30+ years of unbroken profitability, and the backing of Fuyo General Lease.
  • Quality of life. Minimal travel, no weekend work, and an earned hybrid schedule after your first 6 months.
  • Strong benefits. Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, an EAP, and a 401(k) with company match. Three weeks of PTO and 15.5 paid holidays a year.
  • A culture that backs you. A modern Irvine office with sit-stand desks, daily snacks, and premium coffee and tea; monthly company events; quarterly team-building; and a volunteer culture committee.
  • Mentorship and structure. A defined ramp with the Director of Sales co-leading your early meetings and clear quarterly milestones.
