Harrison Soll Design is a Los Angeles-based interior design studio working across high-end residential, hospitality, and commercial projects in Los Angeles and beyond. Our work is highly considered, detail-driven, and rooted in creating spaces that feel distinctive, collected, and specific to each project.

We are a small, hands-on studio, offering the opportunity to work closely across the full design process from concept through installation. We are looking for someone who is creative, technically strong, organized, resourceful, and excited to grow within a fast-paced design studio.

Role Description
\n
We are seeking a part-time freelance Junior Interior Designer to join our Los Angeles studio. This is an in-person position and is not remote or hybrid.
\n
The Junior Designer will work closely with the design team across all phases of our projects, including design development, space planning, drafting, sourcing, presentations, procurement, and installation.
\n
Day-to-day responsibilities may include preparing AutoCAD drawings and elevations, developing SketchUp models, creating client presentations and specification documents, requesting quotes and samples from vendors, maintaining project files and schedules, and assisting with site visits and installations.
\n
As a small studio, we are looking for someone equally comfortable with the creative and technical sides of interior design and willing to jump in wherever needed.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp is required. Applicants must be comfortable working independently in both programs.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is required.
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Spreadsheets
- You must be kind, positive, and genuinely nice to work with.
- You must love dogs.
- Strong understanding of interior design fundamentals, including space planning, furniture plans, elevations, dimensions, materials, and finishes.
- Ability to produce clear, accurate, and organized drawing sets and design documentation.
- Strong sourcing and research skills with an interest in furniture, lighting, textiles, art, vintage, and custom design.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction, incorporate feedback, and collaborate closely with a small team.
- Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
- Portfolio demonstrating both creative design ability and technical drawing/modeling skills is required.
- Must currently live in the Los Angeles area.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable access to a car for site visits, vendor appointments, sourcing, and other project-related needs.
- This is a part-time, freelance, in-person position based in Los Angeles.

We are looking for someone with great taste, strong technical skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for interior design. This role will begin on a part-time freelance basis, with the potential to grow into a larger or full-time position as the studio and project load continue to evolve.
