Now Hiring: Director of Operations — Multi-Unit, Multi-Brand Restaurants
A growing restaurant organization is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead and strengthen operations across multiple brands and markets.
This senior leadership position is ideal for a hands-on operator who builds strong teams, improves profitability, standardizes operations, and holds leaders accountable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operations across multiple restaurant brands and locations
- Manage and develop Regional Directors of Operations, Area Managers, and General Managers
- Improve sales, labor costs, food costs, profitability, guest satisfaction, and operational execution
- Establish consistent systems, standards, reporting, and accountability
- Review restaurant-level P&Ls and create measurable improvement plans
- Strengthen recruiting, training, succession planning, and leadership development
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, food safety, employment requirements, and company policies
- Partner with Finance, HR, Construction, Facilities, IT, and Marketing
- Support new restaurant openings, acquisitions, integrations, and expansion
- Visit restaurants regularly and remain actively involved in field operations
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of restaurant operations experience
- At least 5 years in a senior multi-unit leadership position
- Proven responsibility for 50 or more restaurant locations
- Multi-brand restaurant experience strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of restaurant P&Ls, labor management, food costs, KPIs, and budgeting
- Demonstrated success improving underperforming locations
- Experience building and managing high-performing field leadership teams
- Strong communication, organization, and accountability skills
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout California and other assigned markets
Ideal Background
Experience with major QSR, fast-casual, franchise, or multi-concept restaurant organizations is highly desirable. Candidates should be comfortable working in a growing, entrepreneurial environment that requires strategic thinking and direct field involvement.
