Techstyles Sportswear is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Receiving Associate to join our Warehouse Team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in warehouse receiving operations, inventory accuracy, and the proper handling of incoming merchandise.
This position is responsible for receiving, inspecting, verifying, and processing incoming shipments to ensure materials and products are accurately accounted for and available to support daily operations.
We are looking for a dependable, organized individual who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and receiving documentation.
- Ensure all incoming merchandise is accurately counted, properly identified, and recorded in the inventory system.
- Identify and report shipment discrepancies, shortages, overages, damaged merchandise, and incorrect items.
- Coordinate with Purchasing, Warehouse, and Production teams to resolve receiving discrepancies and ensure timely processing of materials.
- Accurately enter receiving transactions into the inventory management system.
- Label, organize, and properly stage received merchandise for storage or distribution.
- Ensure incoming materials are delivered to the appropriate warehouse or production locations.
- Maintain accurate receiving records, shipping documents, and inventory transactions.
- Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation as needed.
- Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, when trained and authorized.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Follow established warehouse procedures, inventory controls, and workplace safety requirements.
- Prioritize incoming shipments to support production schedules and operational deadlines.
- Communicate receiving issues and potential delays to warehouse leadership.
- Perform other warehouse-related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in warehouse receiving, inventory control, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Strong understanding of receiving procedures, purchase orders, packing slips, and inventory documentation.
- Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, or ERP systems.
- Ability to accurately count, verify, and reconcile incoming merchandise.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills, including data entry and inventory transactions.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Forklift and pallet jack experience required.
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining accurate inventory records.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with assistance or equipment when necessary.
- Ability to work in an active warehouse environment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous receiving experience in a manufacturing, apparel, or distribution environment.
- Experience working with high-volume incoming shipments.
- Familiarity with inventory reconciliation and warehouse receiving procedures.
- Experience coordinating incoming materials with production and purchasing departments.
