Job Description
As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide person-centered care to individuals with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities in supported living residences and community-based settings. You will deliver extensive personal care assistance, promote independence and community participation, support daily routines, and help maintain each individual’s safety, dignity, and well-being.
Responsibilities
- Provide extensive personal care and activities of daily living support.
- Assist with medications and maintain accurate medication records.
- Prepare meals and support nutrition-related routines.
- Promote community integration and provide transportation support.
- Deliver behavioral support using person-centered approaches.
- Monitor health, safety, and well-being in residential and community settings.
- Complete daily progress notes, electronic service records, and incident reports.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more years of experience in direct support services.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of person-centered care and activities of daily living.
- Medication administration experience or training.
- Behavioral support, First Aid, and crisis intervention knowledge.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Empathy and commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities.
