Immediate opening for a Finance Manager in San Diego, CA who possesses:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience within the manufacturing or technology industry
- Experience with QuickBooks, Acumatica, or a relevant ERP system and advanced Excel skills
- Experience performing accounting functions for a publicly traded company preferred
- Knowledge of GAAP, reconciliations, audit support, and inventory accounting
FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a Finance Manager to support accounting and financial operations within a fast-paced manufacturing and technology environment. This role is responsible for accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, budgeting support, operational purchasing, inventory accounting, audit support, and continuous process improvement. The ideal candidate will have strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, manufacturing or technology accounting experience, and the ability to support financial reporting needs within a growing organization.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Preparing journal entries for monthly reconciliations
- Performing savings and checking account reconciliations
- Leading monthly, quarterly, and annual close, including a 4-day month-end close
- Reviewing, allocating, and processing accounts payable, including invoices, ACH payments, wire payments, and employee expenses on company credit cards
- Resolving accounts payable discrepancies with vendors
- Executing payroll operations twice per month
- Allocating payroll appropriately in the accounting system using employee timecard information
- Maintaining records in the accounting system and internal ERP
- Recording accounts receivable invoices and payments in the accounting system
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP requirements
- Supporting inventory accounting and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Preparing audit schedules and supporting annual audit activity
- Analyzing expense variances and maintaining fixed assets
- Processing purchase orders and supporting operational purchasing for major items
- Integrating financial records into a corporate accounting system using OneStream
- Providing variance analysis feedback as needed
- Supporting financial reporting, accounting close, and corporate reporting requirements
- Working closely with operations, finance, and corporate accounting teams
- Supporting process improvement and accounting procedure enhancements
- Maintaining accuracy, organization, and confidentiality in all accounting and financial activities
The selected candidate will also possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 4 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience required
- Manufacturing or technology industry experience preferred
- CPA preferred but not required
- Experience performing accounting functions for a publicly traded company preferred
- QuickBooks, Acumatica, or ERP experience required
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- Knowledge of GAAP required
- Reconciliation experience required
- Audit support experience required
- Cost accounting and inventory accounting knowledge required
- Experience with financial reporting, variance analysis, and month-end close preferred
- Experience with payroll allocation and employee timecard information preferred
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and purchase orders preferred
- OneStream experience preferred
- High integrity and strong analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Sound judgment and ownership mentality
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and operational teams
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Ability to wear multiple hats and support accounting, finance, and operational needs as required
- Ability to work full-time onsite in San Diego, CA
- US Citizenship required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods while reviewing financial records, reports, reconciliations, spreadsheets, and ERP data
- Ability to communicate by phone, email, video meeting, and in person throughout the workday
- Ability to review accounting records, financial statements, audit schedules, inventory reports, purchase orders, payroll records, and computer screens for extended periods
- Ability to use hands and fingers for typing, data entry, filing, and standard office tasks
- Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, production, or operations areas as needed
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move standard office files, financial documents, or supplies
- Ability to work in an office and production-adjacent environment while following applicable safety procedures
Salary Range: $110,000 to $120,000/year + 10% bonus
