Our dental office in Palm Desert, CA is looking for a Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team. You'll provide preventive and periodontal care, teach patients about their oral health, and work closely with the doctor to deliver high-quality, patient-centered dentistry in a friendly, efficient office.
Full-time. Pay: $45–$65 per hour, based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform adult and child prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance
- Complete periodontal charting, oral cancer screenings, and hard and soft tissue assessments
- Take and evaluate radiographs (bitewings, FMX, panoramic) per office protocol
- Apply fluoride varnish, sealants, and local antimicrobial agents
- Administer local anesthesia and nitrous oxide within California RDH scope of practice
- Educate patients on home care and recommended treatment, and help present treatment plans
- Document clinical notes and treatment accurately in the practice management software
- Follow Dental Board of California, Cal/OSHA, and CDC infection-control and sterilization standards
- Work with the doctor and team to keep the schedule on time and patients comfortable
Qualifications
- Current, active California RDH license in good standing (required)
- Graduate of a CODA-accredited dental hygiene program
- California certification in local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and soft tissue curettage
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- 1+ year of clinical hygiene experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply
- Eaglesoft experience a plus
- Strong chairside manner and clear communication with patients
