If you possess strong CAD modeling capabilities, hands-on mechanical aptitude, and thrive in an active manufacturing environment, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
1. CAD Drafting & Reverse Engineering
· Create detailed 3D models and production-ready technical drawings using SolidWorks.
· Utilize measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges) to accurately measure existing components and reverse engineer parts for fabrication and machining.
· Access and utilize Fusion 360 to support existing drawing files, file conversions, and technical workflows.
2. Sales Support & Quoting Assistance
· Review customer purchase orders and technical documentation to accurately generate internal sales orders.
· Assist in the quoting process by analyzing part geometry, evaluating material requirements, and estimating shop processing times.
· Interact with customers as needed to clarify drawing specifications, tolerances, and design requirements.
3. Purchasing & Material Procurement
· Serve as the purchasing agent for raw materials, hardware, and specialized tooling required for new job orders.
· Request quotes from vendors, negotiate material pricing, and issue purchase orders to maintain production schedules.
· Track incoming raw materials to ensure timely arrival for shop execution.
4. Operations Support
· Assist the Operations Coordinator with day-to-day technical administrative tasks to ensure seamless communication between the shop floor and office.
· Help organize and maintain digital drawing archives, job files, and revision histories.
Qualifications & Key Skills
· Software Experience: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks required; familiarity or working knowledge of Fusion 360 strongly preferred.
· Technical & Hands-On Aptitude: Proven experience utilizing precision measuring tools to perform reverse engineering on physical parts.
· Industry Experience: A few years of practical experience in CNC machining, sheet metal, or structural fabrication environments is preferred.
· Commercial & Purchasing Acumen: Experience converting purchase orders into sales orders, assisting with cost estimates/quoting, and procuring raw materials.
· Organization & Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to technical detail and project coordination.
