Job Description
Professional Dog Lover Wanted! Get Paid to Hike, Play & Collect Dog Kisses!
Part-Time Dog Walker / Pack Leader | West Marin County, CA
$22/hour + Tips + Quarterly Profit Sharing
Monday–Friday | Approximately 4–6 Hours Daily | Weekends FREE!
Your Dream Office Has Four Paws, a Tail, and Absolutely No Cubicles.
Do you love dogs more than most people? Do you consider hiking a hobby rather than a punishment? Does the thought of spending your workday outdoors, surrounded by wagging tails and ridiculously happy fluffballs, sound like an actual dream?
Well, grab your sneakers. We may have found your people. And your dogs.
We're a locally owned, established Marin County dog-walking company looking for an energetic, reliable, slightly dog-obsessed human to join our pack!
We're not talking about a quick stroll around the block. We're talking fresh air, beautiful Marin trails, happy dogs, and a job that keeps you moving.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
- Leading an enthusiastic pack of furry adventurers on daily outdoor excursions.
- Picking up and dropping off our four-legged VIPs in a company-provided vehicle.
- Exploring beautiful Marin County parks and trails while keeping everyone safe, happy, and accounted for.
- Managing different dog personalities — from enthusiastic athletes to sophisticated senior sniffers.
- Communicating with our team and providing excellent care for the pets our clients consider family.
- Becoming that person dogs completely lose their minds over when they see you pull into the driveway.
Warning: Excessive tail wagging, slobbery kisses, and unconditional adoration are occupational hazards.
Who We're Looking For
You're probably our kind of human if:
- You genuinely LOVE dogs. Not just the cute Instagram kind — the muddy, goofy, occasionally stubborn kind, too.
- You love being outside and don't melt when it rains.
- You're physically active and comfortable walking several miles a day.
- You're calm, confident, and capable of managing multiple dogs safely.
- You're dependable, punctual, and understand that dogs don't care if you hit the snooze button.
- You communicate well, have good judgment, and take pride in doing a great job.
- You're looking for something meaningful and potentially long-term, not just a temporary gig.
Professional animal-care experience is a huge plus! Dog walkers, shelter volunteers, veterinary assistants, horse people, trainers, and experienced pet sitters — we would love to hear from you.
Don't have professional dog-walking experience? If you have great instincts, a strong work ethic, and relevant animal experience, we're happy to consider you.
A Few Important Must-Haves
- Valid California driver's license and at least 9 years of driving experience, with a clean driving record (required for our commercial vehicle insurance).
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check. Our clients trust us with their beloved pets and access to their homes, so safety, honesty, and trustworthiness are essential.
- Ability to safely handle multiple dogs of different sizes and temperaments.
- Ability to perform an active outdoor job in changing weather.
- Availability Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
- Dependability, sound judgment, and respect for our clients' homes and pets.
The Good Stuff!
- $23/hour base pay
- Client-paid tips
- Eligibility for quarterly profit sharing after training
- Company vehicle provided — leave the wear and tear to us!
- Company-paid gas, equipment, and work phone
- Paid training
- No regularly scheduled weekends or major holidays
- Paid holiday and vacation benefits as you become eligible
- Supportive, friendly team and an established group of wonderful clients
- Opportunity for additional hours as our growing route expands
The Schedule
This is currently a part-time, Monday–Friday position averaging approximately 4–6 hours per day 8:30-12:30, 8:30-2:30 (2x a week).
Our West Marin route is growing, and we'd love to find someone who wants to grow with it! There's potential for this to become a full-time position as our pack expands.
Ready to Join the Pack?
Tell us a little about yourself!
We'd love to know about your animal experience, your favorite outdoor adventures, and what makes you excited about working with dogs.
**Bonus points if your camera roll contains more dogs than humans.
We can't promise you'll never step in something questionable, but we can promise a workday filled with fresh air, wagging tails, and some pretty wonderful four-legged coworkers.
Come make a living doing something you love!
