Location: El Camino Hospital, Mountain View, CA

Employment type: Full-time, non-exempt

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts (40 hours/week)

Pay: $35.00–$38.00 per hour

Agah Medical www.agahmedical.com is a high-end boutique concierge practice located at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. Led by Dr. Ramtin Agah and Dr. Ravin Agah, respected physicians with more than 30 years in the local medical community. The practice combines cardiology and internal medicine in a compassionate, cutting-edge setting. Both providers enjoy teaching and sharing their knowledge with staff, and our established patient base values the warm, friendly environment created by our exceptional team.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, self-driven, and dependable Medical Assistant to join our practice and learn directly from both providers. The ideal candidate works well independently, communicates clearly, and thrives in a busy environment with frequent interruptions. EPIC experience is required.

Roles and Responsibilities

Patient care

Room patients and take vital signs (blood pressure, weight, pulse, respirations)

Review medication lists with patients

Perform EKGs

Apply Holter monitors and educate patients on their use

Prepare and clean exam rooms before and after each patient; ensure all rooms are empty and cleaned before leaving for the day

Front- and back-office support (via EPIC)

Check patients in and out

Obtain and verify insurance information

Schedule follow-up appointments as needed

Facilitate orders and prescriptions

Document all tasks and patient information promptly and accurately

Coordination and administrative

Answer phones and return patient messages and emails

Process authorizations through insurance portals

Follow up with patients on the status of diagnostic and medication authorizations

Contact referring medical offices and pharmacies as needed

Fax, scan, and prep charts for the next day

Keep exam rooms, storage, and supply/referral folders stocked and orderly; notify the manager when supplies run low

On days when the providers are out of the office, use the time to catch up on authorizations, refills, stocking, and respond to messages and emails.

Overall, the Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support to the providers and care team, helping ensure smooth patient flow and supporting the delivery of high-quality care. All duties are performed under the direction of a clinician.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or GED or more

Completion of a Medical Assistant program consistent with California Medical Board requirements (diploma must be presented within 90 days)

CPR certification

Certification & licensure

Medical Assistant certification preferred but not required

BLS – Basic Life Support (Healthcare Provider)

EPIC experience is a must

Experience

At least 1 year of recent, relevant experience

Skills & knowledge

Proficiency with EPIC (required) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

General knowledge of medical procedures, equipment, and pharmacology

Basic understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology

Competency in core MA skills: taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and administering injections

Strong written and verbal communication, including explaining sensitive information clearly to non-medical audiences

Strong time management and organization; ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines

Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks amid interruptions

Ability to anticipate the providers' needs and resolve standard problems using established options
