Join a Growing Utility Infrastructure Team We are actively seeking an Engineering Project Manager (Wet Utilities) to join a well-established underground utility and infrastructure organization. In this highly visible leadership role, you will guide complex utility design projects from concept through completion, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams while serving as a trusted advisor to clients. What You'll Be Responsible For
- Direct the full lifecycle of engineering and utility design projects, from initial planning through final delivery.
- Coordinate and guide engineers, designers, drafters, technical specialists, and consulting partners to achieve project objectives.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource allocations.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet approved design standards, quality requirements, and client expectations.
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding project status, scope, resources, and contractual matters.
- Identify project risks, technical challenges, and design concerns, then implement effective solutions.
- Monitor key project performance metrics and prepare executive-level progress reports.
- Manage consultant and vendor relationships, including selection, negotiation, and performance oversight.
- Foster strong client partnerships that encourage long-term collaboration and repeat business.
- Support business development efforts through networking, proposal development, pursuit activities, and client presentations.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to team members while supporting their professional growth.
- Exercise independent judgment when addressing complex project and engineering challenges.
To Be Successful in This Role, You'll Bring
- REQUIRED: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- REQUIRED: 5+ years of engineering project management experience within utility, civil infrastructure, or related environments.
- REQUIRED: California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office applications, and project-related technology tools.
- Demonstrated experience managing budgets, schedules, technical deliverables, and cross-functional project teams.
- Working knowledge of engineering design principles, construction practices, and utility infrastructure systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, client relationship, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to mentor technical staff and support team development.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, and attention to detail.
