Works closely with teachers, children, and families to ensure a safe, nurturing, organized, and positive environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Daily Preschool Operations
- Assist the Director with the daily operation of the preschool.
- Help ensure classrooms are properly staffed and operating smoothly.
- Assist with teacher coverage and classroom needs as necessary.
- Monitor daily schedules, attendance, transitions, and overall school activities.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Respond to unexpected situations and daily operational needs.
Teacher Support & Supervision
- Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to teachers and classroom staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and classroom assignments.
- Assist teachers with classroom management and challenging situations.
- Communicate staff concerns and needs to the Director.
Children
- Help ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children.
- Support teachers in providing a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment.
- Assist with children's behavioral, emotional, and social needs when necessary.
- Help respond appropriately to injuries, illnesses, accidents, and other emergencies.
- Maintain appropriate supervision of children throughout the school day.
Parent & Family Relations
- Communicate with parents regarding routine questions, school information, and children's daily needs.
- Assist the Director in addressing parent concerns or questions.
- Help with school tours, new-family orientation, enrollment, and parent communication.
Curriculum & Classroom Quality
- Support teachers in implementing the preschool's curriculum and educational philosophy.
- Help ensure classrooms are prepared with appropriate materials and activities.
- Assist in maintaining consistent expectations and standards across classrooms.
Health, Safety & Licensing
- Help ensure compliance with preschool licensing requirements and school policies.
- Assist with maintaining required records, attendance, incident reports, and other documentation.
- Help enforce health and safety procedures.
- Ensure proper supervision and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with emergency preparedness and emergency procedures.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with enrollment and registration procedures.
- Help maintain student and staff records.
- Assist with ordering supplies and monitoring classroom needs.
- Help coordinate special events, school activities, field trips, and programs.
Qualifications
- Fluent in English and basic conversational Korean.
- Minimum of 12 units of college credits in early childhood education.
- Previous experience working in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with young children, teachers, and families.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and respond calmly to changing situations.
- Knowledge of early childhood development and classroom practices preferred.
- Must meet all applicable state licensing and background-check requirements.
