Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a large, multi-state workforce in San Jose, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who brings strong end-to-end payroll expertise, attention to detail, and confidence working in a high-volume environment. The person in this role will help ensure employees are paid correctly, records are maintained properly, and payroll processes align with company policies and applicable regulations.
Responsibilities:
• Process full-cycle payroll for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Administer payroll activities across multiple states while applying applicable wage, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and update employee payroll records, including earnings, deductions, tax details, and other pay-related changes.
• Use ADP Workforce Now to manage payroll transactions, review data, and support routine payroll administration.
• Audit payroll registers and supporting reports to identify discrepancies and resolve issues before final submission.
• Partner with internal teams to address payroll questions, research exceptions, and provide clear resolution on pay-related matters.
• Support payroll reporting and documentation needs by preparing accurate records for internal review and compliance purposes.• Demonstrated experience processing full-cycle payroll from initial data review through final payroll completion.
• Proven ability to manage multi-state payroll with a solid understanding of related compliance considerations.
• Hands-on experience using ADP Workforce Now for payroll processing and employee record maintenance.
• Background supporting payroll for organizations with more than 500 employees.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling sensitive payroll data and calculations.
• Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain consistent quality in a fast-paced setting.
