Machine operator

Location: City of Industry

Pay: $19

Schedule: Monday-Friday (5 am-1:30) potential overtime

We are seeking an experienced Slitter Machine Operator to operate and monitor slitting equipment used to cut and convert flexible packaging materials into specified widths. The ideal candidate will have machine operation experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Must be certify for Sit down forklift
• Operate and monitor slitter machinery according to production specifications.
• Set up machines, including loading materials, adjusting tension, alignment, and cutting widths.
• Load and unload rolls of material using appropriate material-handling equipment.
• Thread and run materials through the machine while maintaining proper alignment and tension.
• Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and customer specifications.
• Measure finished rolls and make adjustments as needed.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor operating issues.
• Perform blade inspections and assist with routine machine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and production guidelines.
• Complete production paperwork and accurately record production and quality information.
• Communicate any equipment, quality, or production issues to the supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating slitter machines or similar converting equipment preferred.
• Manufacturing or flexible packaging experience is a plus.
• Ability to read and follow production instructions and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to perform basic measurements and use measuring tools.
• Comfortable working around machinery and in a fast-paced production environment.
• Ability to lift and move materials as required.
• Must be safety-conscious and able to follow instructions.
