Quality Inspector
Location: San Diego, CA 92123
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate Range: $26–$32/hour
Duration: 4 + Months
Position Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join an aerospace manufacturing environment. The Quality Inspector will ensure that incoming parts, components, assemblies, and finished products meet required quality standards, engineering specifications, drawings, and customer requirements.
The position supports quality assurance activities for small gas turbine engines used in commercial and business jet applications.
Key Responsibilities
Receiving Inspection
- Inspect incoming parts and materials for compliance with specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
- Perform dimensional inspections using:

- Calipers
- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Other precision measuring equipment
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
Outgoing / Final Inspection
- Perform final inspections of completed assemblies and products before shipment.
- Verify required documentation, including:

- Test reports
- Certifications
- Certificates of Conformance
- Identify and document non-conformances.
- Work with Production and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues.
Metrology
- Apply metrology principles to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection equipment as required.
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure inspections comply with applicable aerospace regulations and industry standards.
- Work with standards such as:

- AS9100
- FAA regulations
- Stay current with applicable aerospace quality requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide recommendations based on inspection findings.
- Help improve inspection processes and quality-control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree or technical certification in a related field is preferred.
- Experience in quality inspection, preferably within the aerospace industry.
- Knowledge of metrology and dimensional inspection.
- Hands-on experience using:

- Micrometers
- Height gauges
- Precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with AS9100 and/or FAA regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to handle small parts and precision inspection tools.
