Job DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a busy onsite manufacturing operation in Lancaster, California. This Long-term Contract position will oversee core HR activities across talent acquisition, employee support, compliance, onboarding, and benefits administration. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in employment practices, sound judgment when handling sensitive matters, and the ability to build effective partnerships with employees and leadership.
Responsibilities:
• Partner with department leaders to assess workforce needs and develop effective staffing approaches for open positions.
• Manage the full recruitment process by sourcing candidates, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, checking references, and supporting the offer stage.
• Lead onboarding activities for new employees, including orientation scheduling and coordination of post-offer pre-employment requirements.
• Prepare recurring hiring metrics and recruitment updates to provide leadership with clear visibility into staffing activity and trends.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation, including job descriptions and employee records related to hires, transfers, status changes, and separations.
• Support adherence to company policies and employment regulations while assisting with policy revisions and employee handbook updates.
• Respond to workplace concerns, advise managers on employee relations matters, and help foster a respectful and collaborative work environment.
• Administer benefits-related processes such as open enrollment, employee communication, and coordination of informational sessions with providers.
• Monitor the performance review cycle to help ensure evaluations are completed consistently and aligned with organizational expectations.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation activities by reporting incidents, communicating with carriers and medical providers, arranging modified duty assignments, and tracking case progress.• Minimum of 5 years of human resources experience in a generalist capacity, preferably within an onsite operational or manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor’s degree with substantial HR experience, master’s degree in human resources or a related field with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and the ability to apply them appropriately in recruiting and employee relations situations.
• Proven experience addressing employee relations issues with discretion and confidentiality.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
• Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact successfully with employees, managers, and leadership teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and familiarity with HRIS tools and HR administration processes.
• HR certification is preferred, along with basic math skills to support attendance or payroll-related tasks.
