Role Description
\n
The Licensed Massage Therapist is an Independent Contractor role based in San Rafael, CA, with flexible scheduling including weekend and evening availability. Day-to-day responsibilities include providing therapeutic massage sessions tailored to client needs, conducting brief intake consultations, and maintaining accurate client records. The therapist will perform Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Sports Massage techniques, while promoting stress management and wellness education. Additional tasks include preparing treatment rooms, maintaining a clean and safe environment, managing appointment scheduling, and delivering professional customer service before, during, and after sessions.

Qualifications

- Strong therapeutic massage skills focused on relaxation, pain relief, and overall wellness
\n
- Proficiency in Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, and Sports Massage (additional modalities such as Shiatsu or Swedish are a plus, not required)
\n
- Customer service skills that support clear communication, professionalism, and a positive client experience
\n
- Ability to integrate stress management principles into sessions and client education
\n
- Current, unrestricted massage therapy license in the state of California
\n
- Current professional liability insurance and CPR/First Aid certification
\n
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and contraindications for massage therapy
\n
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and adherence to health and safety standards
\n
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive motions safely
